6,000 APS Staff Kick Off School Year with Teacher Palooza Celebration

Dubbed TeacherPalooza, the back-to-school rally brought together roughly 6,000 APS staff members for a day filled with inspiration, collaboration, and celebration. With students returning to classrooms this Thursday, the event aimed to unite educators from the district’s many campuses under one roof.

The gathering featured breakout sessions for professional learning, as well as opportunities for teachers and staff to network and share ideas outside their individual school environments.

“Many of our educators have said working at their school can feel isolating because of how spread out APS is,” said Superintendent Gabriella Blakey. “This event helps us come together as one team and kick off the year united.”

During the event, Blakey also took time to highlight standout schools for their accomplishments over the past academic year, encouraging a spirit of pride and recognition across the district.
