RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Authorities in Rio Rancho are investigating a deadly incident that occurred early Sunday morning in a residential area just west of the city’s downtown.
Rio Rancho Police Department officers were dispatched around 5 a.m. to the 1300 block of Aspen Meadows following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had died at the scene. A second individual was located and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. As of now, their condition remains unknown.
Investigators have detained several individuals for questioning in connection with the case. Police have assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
