ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – With over 200 members, the Albuquerque Coin Club stands as the largest organization of its kind within a 400-mile radius, dedicated to promoting numismatic education and appreciation among collectors and the community alike.
Phil Vitale, a former president of the club, recently gave a presentation on ancient Roman coinage. He highlighted how the Roman Empire excelled at producing durable, far-reaching currency. One of the most widely used coins of that era, the denarius, often featured the image of the current emperor and played a key role in trade across the vast empire.
