ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico is helping local families ease the financial burden of back-to-school preparations by providing essential supplies and services at no cost. On Saturday, the organization hosted a community event where over 25 local businesses came together to support students with free backpacks, shoes, haircuts, and even vaccinations.

The goal was to ensure that every child, regardless of income, has what they need to start the school year with confidence. “This really helps families who might not be able to afford everything. I’m thankful for it,” said student Andy Brown.
Event organizers emphasized that support doesn’t stop here—the center behind the event remains open throughout the year, continuing its mission to assist families in need.
