A semitruck driver was flown to a hospital following a rollover accident Sunday evening, August 3, on New Mexico Highway 9, according to the Sunland Park Fire Department.
Emergency crews from Sunland Park Fire and Doña Ana County Fire Rescue (DAFR) responded to the scene around 5:15 p.m. The crash occurred near Mile Marker 130, along the stretch of Highway 9 between Santa Teresa and Columbus.

Fire officials said the driver was trapped inside the overturned truck and had to be rescued. Once freed, the man was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.
While DAFR handled medical care, Sunland Park Fire assisted by establishing a helicopter landing zone for the airlift.
