LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. – In the aftermath of severe storms, officials in the Village of Ruidoso are encouraging locals to seek disaster relief through FEMA as soon as possible.
FEMA representatives are advising both homeowners and renters in Lincoln County who experienced storm-related losses to apply for assistance—even if they’ve previously received FEMA aid from past disasters.
Authorities also recommend that affected individuals begin by filing a claim with their insurance provider before pursuing federal assistance.
Residents have multiple options to apply for FEMA aid. The most convenient method is through the official FEMA website. Those needing in-person support can visit the State Disaster Resource Center located at the Eastern New Mexico University – Ruidoso Annex, 709 Mechem Drive. The center operates daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Other available options include the FEMA mobile app and the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.
