Alamogordo Police Launch Homicide Investigation After Apparent Stabbing

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — Authorities have launched a homicide investigation after a 65-year-old man was discovered dead inside a residence on the city’s west side early Saturday morning, June 1.

Officers with the Alamogordo Police Department were dispatched to a home on Second Street for a welfare check. Upon arrival, they located the man deceased from what appeared to be a stab wound. The discovery was made shortly before 4:30 a.m.

The Twelfth Judicial District Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case. The multi-agency task force includes investigators from the Alamogordo Police Department, Ruidoso Police Department, Lincoln and Otero County sheriff’s offices, and the district attorney’s office.
