ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Accessing library resources just became more convenient for residents of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, thanks to the release of a new mobile app designed to streamline the user experience.
The “Public Library ABQ-BernCo” app gives users the ability to browse the library catalog, manage holds, renew borrowed items, locate nearby branches, and even access a digital version of their library card—all from their smartphone. Users can also reset their PIN and stay connected with library services while on the go.
“This tool reflects our commitment to meeting patrons where they are,” said Kelli Murphy, the acting library director. “The app brings the library into people’s daily lives in a way that’s quick, flexible, and user-friendly.”

Mayor Tim Keller emphasized the app’s significance, saying, “With so much of our lives managed through smartphones, this app creates easy, modern access to resources families and students rely on.”
The app is free to download and currently available on both Android and iOS platforms through Google Play and the App Store. Community members can now enjoy improved access to library services anytime, anywhere, further connecting them to reading, learning, and local events.
