A man from the Mescalero Apache Tribe has admitted guilt in federal court to charges related to a violent assault that left a woman seriously injured, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico.
Myron Edward Blake Jr., age 40 and an enrolled member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, was accused of attacking a woman on June 27, 2024, using a cinder block and a wooden 2×6 board, resulting in significant bodily harm.

Blake entered a guilty plea to one count of assault causing substantial bodily injury. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to five years, followed by three years of supervised release at sentencing.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, with prosecution handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
