New Delivery Method: Alamogordo Daily News Moves to USPS Distribution

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — Beginning Tuesday, April 16, the Alamogordo Daily News will be delivered through the U.S. Postal Service, a change aimed at improving resource efficiency in response to the growing demand for digital content.

As more readers turn to online platforms for up-to-the-minute updates, the role of the print edition is evolving. The newspaper’s leadership says print subscribers can expect more curated content — in-depth local reporting, sports commentary, uplifting community stories, and thoughtful analysis that go beyond the headlines.

“We remain committed to covering stories that matter most to our readers,” said Jessica Onsurez, News Director of the Alamogordo Daily News. “This shift in delivery method allows us to maintain that commitment while adapting to how our readers consume news.”

The change is part of a larger initiative by Gannett Co. Inc., which owns the Alamogordo Daily News along with over 200 other daily newspapers nationwide. Gannett has already rolled out similar USPS delivery models in numerous other markets with success.

Michael A. Anastasi, Gannett’s Vice President of Local News, emphasized the evolving role of the print newspaper: “Our print editions now serve as a thoughtful recap and deeper dive into stories that shape our communities, while our digital platforms continue to provide timely, daily coverage.”

In addition to the print edition, readers are encouraged to access digital versions of the newspaper, including the eNewspaper — an exact digital replica — available at alamogordonews.com/enewspaper.

Subscribers will be notified of the upcoming delivery change by mail and will receive guidance on how to use the Daily News digital offerings.
