Suspect Arrested After Shots Fired in Edgewood Fast Food Lot

EDGEWOOD, N.M. — A suspect is in custody following a shooting incident that occurred Monday evening, July 28, in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant in Edgewood, according to local police. Authorities say criminal charges are forthcoming.

Edgewood Police responded around 5 p.m. to reports of a physical altercation accompanied by gunfire at the fast food location near 2A NM-344. Upon arrival, officers launched a search for the individual involved.

The suspect was located a short distance south of town and apprehended without resistance. A firearm linked to the scene was discovered at a separate location and has been secured as evidence.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues gathering details.
