ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The trial for Sylvan Alcachupas, accused of killing a well-known pizza shop owner, has been scheduled to begin early next year. Alcachupas faces charges related to an attempted robbery at Giovanni’s Pizzeria on San Pedro Drive near Kathryn Avenue, which occurred three years ago and resulted in the fatal shooting of Rosario Zito. The tragic event deeply affected the local community.
